I was worried that my students wouldn't enjoy this game, but they have requested it numerous times! It has helped them sound out new words and then determine if that word actually exists. It is a great way to get them thinking. It does take some assistance from me to keep them going, but they really enjoy trying to get the most tiles!

My class loves this game! It’s a little hard for them to play as directed so we just play to make words our own way!

I have lots of games like this for my kindergarten class so I wasn't expecting this game to be a big hit but it has been our favorite. The cute alligators seem durable enough to withstand kindergarten and the station is easy enough to run for parent volunteers. The plastic letter pieces also seem pretty durable. My only objection is that there are only 4 Gators in a set. With the ridiculous class sizes these days, I'm lucky to have a small group of six. I also bought the spelling bolts and they came with six bolts. I'm going to have to purchase 2 sets of the Gators which makes them much more expensive.

I will quote my boys 34; this game is frustrating34; . I will have to agree with them. We tried playing this game for about 20 minutes and with all the three letter words they know how to spell there were not enough letters nor blends facing the right direction to fit. For example we ended up with one letter t that would fit the end of the spellagator for a three letter word. And we all know there are more three letter words that end in t than just one. This was a problem with lots of letter and blends. The boys gave this a two star because while the game was frustrating to play at least it was well made. The gators are strong and sturdy and the game pieces stack well. While I am sure I can find a way to make the game work it will be up to my boys if it will be returned and I think I already know the answer.

Wish there was a way to buy more letter tiles, or that it came with more then just these. But it's still a great game.

This is such a great game for the whole family. If you like scrabble and you are working with a kid learning to read, this is a good option. It's fun for all ages. It comes with a word list to help your young learner identify words. Towards the end of the game, he started being able to identify words on his own. This game is a must have for kids learning to read and spell.
