Bought one just to try it out on my Bravo Audi, first one was a dud, so I got a replacement one, and that one was a dud too. Inside the tubes you can see a wire turn bright hot red, I don't think that is normal. I made sure I bought the right model for my amp, but they didn't work properly. Next time spend a little more and get a good brand.

I bought these tubes to replace the Ruby 12ax7 tubes that I had in my Peavey 6505 plus 112 combo amp. These tubes are perfect for what I wanted and would not hesitate to buy them again if they blew.

Great tube!

Great tube choice for the V2 and V3 spots in a Fender Blues Jr. or similar amp. This tube is articulate, well-balanced, and provides pleasant, round low midrange response. In the V1 spot, it's a bit dry and can get shrill in the treble frequencies, yet not as much as similar Tung-Sol or Groove Tube alternatives. Overdrive is soft and natural with decent harmonics, yet it sounds a bit 34;boxy.34; Great and reliable option, though better alternatives are available for the V1 slot.

Really happy with these preamp tubes. I just re-tubed a bunch of old amps, and simply couldn't afford to stick the spendier stuff in all the tube slots, so the JJs went in some of the more 'general purpose' slots, like the normal channel 34;first34; tube on 3 different older Fender amps, and also in the 34;recovery stage34; tube that comes after the reverb circuit. Some folks claim that these sound 34;less 3-D34; than other tubes like the (new Russian manufacture) Tung Sol 12AX7s, but I really can't hear a difference.

Loaded two of these into my AC4C1-BL 10 inch combo to replace the factory Chinese tubes after having run them for a few years. When I did I immediately got a scratching noise from the volume pot on my guitar that was very noticeable. I tried the same guitar with my other amps and there was no noise. Weird. I tried swapping the JJ preamp tubes around thinking that maybe just the tube in V1 was 34;bad,34; but no luck -- scratching still there. I removed the JJs and put the Chinese factory tubes back in and all was quiet again. I tried the JJs again and the scratching was back. After some searching I discovered that JJ preamp tubes 34;leaking DC34; into the input pin is not uncommon and could lead to scratchiness in the volume pot of your guitar. Both of the tubes I got exhibited this problem -- I tried swapping V1 and V2 -- so I can say that it's not rare. I wanted to like them but the problem they caused made them a non-started for me.

Physically the vacuum tube is exactly like my previous one, it fits. But the gain is way low, I can not get pre-amp overdrive distortion with this one. Sounds always clean even with pre-amp volume all way up

I noticed the getter turned white and there was a crack in the base after plugging and unplugging it only twice. Lost all its vacuum and is worthless. The tube that was in the amp originally lasted 25 years of abuse and this one junked out after three days. Tone was pretty flat and neutral when it worked. Meh, try Tung-Sols instead of these.

Well, these tubes lasted from late September to beginning of January. Not too impressed on the longevity, but they did sound good when they worked.

I have a Jolida FX10 that had microphonic tubes. I wasn't sure whether it were the EL84EH or the Tung-Sol 12AX7--so I bought all the replacements from JJ Electronics. Turns out, it was one of the EL84EHs that was faulty, and so I got to do some preamp tube A/B testing with Tung-Sol and JJ Electronics Tung-Sol was an obvious winner. It gave the sharp and bright highs and pronounced mids with quality that puts music in my head. JJ's highs were ear-piercing, and it was more than lacking in mids. Obviously disappointed, but I'm glad my old preamp tubes are fine. I may contact JJ Electronics about this, in case I received faulty tubes--but even with all the negative comments, I like them enough to keep them as cheap backups, FWIW. Not related to the product, but on a related note, I replaced the EL84EHs with JJ Electronics T-EL84-JJ-MQ, which work fantastically with the Tung-Sol 12AX7.
