i buy bits and stuff and IRWIN always seems to be of great quality , they are heavy and strong and seem to do a good job ,can't complain

A really nice basic set of chisels. Great for mortice and tenon work, smoothing and shaping.

I’m not a chisel expert and I suspect there are chisels superior to these. However, for me this is a huge upgrade. Came sharp not crazy sharp but sharp enough to test. I put a fresh edge on them, plowed through White Oak with ease. I’ve owned lots of lower grade chisels and they work but so do you. These it’s night and day minimal effort as a matter of fact I suggest you go easy, you could ruin your work thinking chisels are chisels like I did, WRONG. Again, WOW, huge, monstrous, difference. And sharpening was so much quicker _x000D_.
