The cutting board is smaller than I thought. Would have loved it, if it actually came with a small cheese knife, which it does not. It's a sturdy board, with a nice stain color to it. Will work great for cutting up my cheeses. I had hoped to use it for a gift but without a knife it would not make a good gift.

This is a very nice cutting board with inset details. But it is quite small for the price. It is 10"x 7"x 1", which is roughly the size of a 250-page hardcover novel, so its really more of a cheese board or bar board than a cutting board. You might be able to put one large wedge of cheese or two small ones on it, but not much more.

The knife holder is a bit puzzling. It's more like a knife rest and would have made much more sense if a cheese knife that fit that space was included. The knives I have just sort of look like they are laying there

The product picture shows that it is made of three pieces of wood glued together. Mine is made of six pieces - which you can see in my photos. I think that's a plus in terms of structure (which may or not be important on a board this size, but the product picture with only three actually looks nicer.

The bottom line: This is lot of money for a board this size. It's made of acacia, which is a very pretty wood that is used for cutting boards, trays and salad bowls, but it is not rare enough to command a price like this for such a little board.

This is a great cutting board. It's a nice size for everyday use and the feet on the bottom keep it feeling stable in use. You will need to order some butcher block oil, though. If you don't oil it, it'll look stained. Otherwise, it's a nice addition to the kitchen.

This is a wonderfully thick 6x10" cutting board that truly stands out best as a serving tray for cheese or hors d'Ĺ“uvre on a side table or as a centerpiece on the dining table. Mine arrived without defects - no cracks or roughness. The branding is on the bottom, unseen by diners, along with four small rubber pads to protect your table surface and to prevent slipping. There's a small tray at one end in which you can perch a knife. At first I thought the knife is supposed to fit under the connecting pieces of wood, but that's not really the point (and such a knife wouldn't be very good as a cheese knife anyway). Instead, you lean the tip of the knife against one connector while perching the handle atop the other connector. The instructions say to keep this away from the dishwasher and to wash it in warm soapy water and then wipe dry, after which you can add butcher block oil. I try to use water sparingly on products like this since repeated washings will inevitably lead to cracks in the wood.

Perfect size, beautiful design... really nicely made. My wife and I love it so far. Solid with soft feet to keep it from moving around on our counter. Highly recommended...

Gorgeous wood, as much a visual eye candy work of art as a cutting board. The board is very very hard and perfect for displaying cheeses, cut beef, you can cut, wipe, and serve on the board, plus it's attractive enough to leave ou ton the counter. It does not have a groove or juice trough so juicy meats or fruits can cause dripping off the sides.

The board is well put together and the wood fits tightly.

This is an absolutely beautiful cutting board. It looks just as nice in person as in the picture. There are shallow feet on the bottom to prevent slipping while you work. It is VERY thick, so the probability of splitting it is low.

There are two minor disadvantages which hold back that last star:
* no channel around the edge
* a bit small for larger jobs -- unless you remove the food you're done with as you cut it. I typically used a very large cutting board when I'm doing bell peppers and onions for fajitas, for example. Using this one for that I'd have to regularly remove the prepped food to the skillet, instead of doing that all at once at the end of the prep.

I'm a cutting board fan. I have cutting boards. I have hefty maple. Handy compact olive wood and bamboo. And know this uber-light weight right size 'ironwood'. My wife now has here favorite.

Great Cutting Board! We received this cutting board as a wedding gift and it is one of our favorite gifts. Be sure to rub in oil and wood conditioner prior to use!

Good cutting board. I would suggest buying a wood cutting board oil to prevent drying out of the board.

Very pretty cutting board. Be sure you keep it conditioned with mineral oil and bees wax and it should last a loooong time.

Mine came with a very rough finish. For a food cutting board, these sticking out strands of wood are very bad since tiny pieces of raw meat or chicken can stick to them, and grow the very bad bacteria that come with them...

I will have to use sandpaper to smooth it out if I decide to use as cutting board for raw meat or poultry. It is quite a job...

This is a beautiful cutting board, but it is warping and cracking after less than a year of use.

The cutting board arrived promptly and is beautiful but was splintering upon first use. I could feel and see small pieces of wood shedding from it, which is concerning as I do not want that in my food.
