I bought this kit for my SO's birthday and it did not disappoint. As is, it's not sealed and it's kind of boring. However, I had a good time staining and sealing it in a rich color and adding a brass monogrammed name plate and some brass corner embellishments and it turned out great! I would also strongly recommend buying some little rubber feet to screw into the bottom so it doesn't get messed up. As we all know, when you have something shiny and new and you take it to the barn, it gets messed up in a matter of seconds. Such is the life of a horse-person. Overall, it's a great product. However, my only complaint is that the wooden piece that acts as the floor of the box is VERY thin and flimsy. This makes not a lick of sense because that seems like the most structurally important part. We keep our farrier tools in it and I foresee needing to replace the bottom piece soon. Good thing it's so easy to assemble I suppose. Side note, it's also quite a bit overpriced for being so bare-bones.
