After reading the other reviews, I purchased the ring for my horse's hoof boil. He has always worn the standard hoof boil boot which lasts around 6 months. I have to remove the boot every few days since it starts creating a skin irritation by his hoof. Plus the boot costs around $30 so this seems worth a try. So far, so good. It is light weight and doesn't irritate his skin; even better, his hoof boil has not come back. I honestly have to say I'm surprised this has worked so well. The construction is very basic (makes me think I could have made one!), but is does work. If this ever wears out, I would definitely purchase another.

My horse was getting a large sore on her from laying down and having her hoof constantly hit the same area. A few weeks after putting this on her the sore is gone and she is back to normal. It’s not tight on the horse and does it’s job well!

I have horse that while barefoot, tracks up like crazy and often cuts himself in the process. These have lasted longer than the bell boots I ordered and have somehow been better as protected the area he repeatedly nicks. I only ordered one pair, but need to order another.

Worked as i had hoped. My young gelding lays down alot. He got his first pair of shoes and promptly developed a shoe boil the size of a softball, in his armpit. I ordered one of these, put it on him like a bracelet, and the boil reduced in size within a week. It's now smaller than a ping pong ball and healing. A

The inner fastener will slip out of the rubber so I punched a hole tied them together helped with bedsores but only when she was stalled
