The Seco-Larm SD-991A-D1Q Mini No-Cut Electric Door Strike offers a convenient way to add electronic access control to existing doors with cylindrical locksets without requiring extensive modifications. Its compact design and "no-cut" installation make it relatively easy to install, replacing the existing strike plate. The stainless steel keeper provides durability and resistance to wear. While designed for indoor use, it offers a practical solution for securing interior doors requiring electronic access, though professional installation is recommended for optimal security and functionality.

I installed into door frames of an old house that's been converted into an office building. The jambs were pretty beaten up. It was not easy to get everything lined so the opening/closing of the door worked every time. One one door, I had to cut out a section of the jamb, insert new wood and cut out a new hole for the latch. However, I did finally manage to all three operational. These are expensive but I couldn't really find anything else on the market.

So far they are working excelling. My only complaint is the location where the wire comes out. It should come out at the "back" of the lock rather than the end. Makes it difficult to avoid screwing through the wire. Have not had to replace one yet, but concerned it may be difficult to replace should a failure happen because of the wire location.

I was looking for the smallest strike that would require the least amount of modification to my door frame. I'm pretty sure this is the one. Like many others, it does have issues releasing if there is any pressure on the latch, or if there is any torque on the mounting plate, but when it's installed correctly it gets the job done nicely, and more importantly, discreetly. I'll be picking up two more to finish the project I started.

Have installed ten of these. Good solid offering. As with many electric strike cylindrical locks, alignment when installing is important.MOST electric strikes will not open under preload condition. If there is a warped wooden or metal door or other condition that will put outward pressure against the strike latch, the lock may not open smoothly. You would have to press in on the door before the lock would open in extreme cases.
