This are ok to have on hand for short-term use. I would suggest getting better ones if you're going to need crutches more than a week as the hand am armpits are super thin and flimsy compared to the padding on hospital issues wooden crutches.

I am not a large person and used these crutches after knee surgery, thus in the house and not moving about much. So, under light use, the crutch tip cracked and had to be replaced in less than a month. Fortunately, CVS carries replacements. I don't know if this happens with all crutches or just these, but when you are relying on them to keep you up, a cracked tip is scary.Otherwise, the crutches were fine. I did replace the handles (too wide for my hands) and the underarm padding (switched to memory foam).
