The MK402BTX offers the same fantastic sound quality and articulation as the original but adds the wonderful amenity of a wireless connection. The built-in amplifier on the MK402BTX is able to provide up to 80 watts of max output power, easily enough to power these speakers. The MK402BTX also allows you to change tracks, volume, and even pause/play songs from the speaker itself.
The MK402X features an attractive textured, black vinyl finish that stands out at first glance. The cabinet offers a unique geometric design for the baffle that sets it apart from much more basic speakers in its price range. The grill is removable and made of a high-quality black cloth that discretely obscures the most appealing features of this design, the drivers.
The MK402X are engineered to disappear and deliver a transparent lifelike performance. Each speaker has an incredible wide listening field to provide excellent detail from any position. These are pretty good little speakers, certainly adequate for use as computer speakers. However, as others have noticed, the audio cable is crap. What you should do if you buy these speakers is immediately drop the cable in the nearest trash receptacle, and order a Syncwire cable.

I bought some Dayton Audio drivers (4 mid-bass woofers, the same that are in these speakers) and replaced the Edifier drivers. The sound and bass difference was nothing short of amazing. I instantly became a fan of Dayton Audio, and especially these 4 drivers with wide-excursion. These drivers will not pick up very deep lows, but does an amazing job in all the other ranges, especially mid-bass. For the price, these can't be beat. The build-quality is better than I expected for $100ish speakers. They come with the wire needed to connect the speakers and 3.5mm cable to connect to a computer if desired.I am using both the Edifier with the swapped out 4 drivers and these Dayton Audio's with my computer and I am super happy. Highly recommend Dayton Audio, I've heard lots of their drivers and they make great stuff.

Using these as pc speakers for a Mac mini. Very pleased. It's also easy enough to unplug them and take outside to use for patio/ backyard music. Very much appreciate that versatility and the sound quality for the money is hard to beat.

RHese actually do have a little soundstage to them. Very impressiveI tried the Audioengine A5 and found them muddled in the middle and just not transparent at allThese little speakers are really pretty fantastic, especially for the $. Give them a bit to break in and you'll be rewarded IMO
