I have an old Coleman lantern and I accidentally broke the globe while cleaning it up. I could not find a replacement anywhere. This fit perfectly and will allow me to hopefully use that lantern for many years to come.

The photo of the genuine Coleman lantern globe for this item is false and highly misleading. This is an after-market knock-off from India and it's box is a plain white with blue and some red lettering from 34;American Mantle Company,34; with model number CLG8500 - not the one that is advertised. Although seemingly serviceable, the diameter is 1/1634; smaller than the original Coleman part (4.8134; vs 4.87534; for the original). Thickness of this item is a little fatter (0.07534; vs 0.06534; for the original). There is no strengthening bead along the edge of this item, which is present on the original and contributes to a better and more secure fit. This item, being both smaller and without the edge bead, fits loosely and not as securely as the original. Worst - there is no label on the glass; it is not designated as Pyrex like the original. The packaging says heat resistant glass - it does not say tempered glass, which is what Pyrex is. SInce there is no guarantee that this item is indeed made of tempered glass and it fits poorly, I do not recommend this product for what is a safety critical component of any Coleman fuel (refined gasoline) powered lantern.
