I've tried four different brand models. This model brand was going to be my last.It was the best made.It was the most accurate of the four brand models.I ended up keeping the 15 inch.Things to keep in mind when using this trimmer.Practice makes perfect.I upload a (Jpg Sheet) with lines. You can copy and print out multiple sheets. It's intended purpose is to practice on the sheets before attempting any real cut. That way you don't have to make a goof and regret it !!!! Hint Hint $$$$$There's no copyright on the ( Practice Sheet ).

Wasn't sure if the cutter was going to be too big,but it was easy to use and reach over to hold paper. The one thing that is confusing,is that it doesn't tell you where to line up the paper, so you know where the cut will be.After a few trial cuts,I figured out to line it up with the end of the clear plastic plate that holds the paper down. The only other problem was,it was tricky getting a 18 paper to go under the holder. It kept catching on the cutter.I am very pleased with it's ease and accuracy. Also, the extra blades in the storage compartment is a nice plus.

I use this to cut down large sheets of paper to make signatures for my books. U til I got this I had to fold my paper in half, then tear it in half, then fold each half and tear again I got really tired of folding and tearing! Now I can cut several, pages at one time and have them all come out the same size? I think this will cut my book board too, although I haven't tried that yet.

I finally decided to buy this and I'm so glad I did! I have an older similar one that you could only cut a few sheets at a time. This one cuts 3 times as much so it is a time saver. The longer length is great for scrapbook paper and such. Love that it holds the paper down when you cut. I'm happy.

I bought it to cut heavy duty chipboard for my craft project and it does cut like butter. I love it. It is big, so it is difficult to store in drawers, but I find a place in my closet to keep it.

The rotary cutter has a hold down bar which keeps your cut straight. The disks are sharp, and it had perforating disks as well. It is well made and can be used in an office or home.

I bought this and it's my 5th paper trimmer. Three for card making and the guillotine for heavy chip board. The guillotine was heavy duty and cuts great buy my cuts seemed to be off 1/16 all the time. My Carl holds the paper and chipboard firmly and the precision is great. Should have bought it first and saved a lot of money. Comes with several replacement blades and a magnetic bar. Absolutely the only thing I don't like is since ordering the 15 inch it seems huge but I'm very happy with it. AND no assembly.

This rotary paper cutter is, hands-down, the best I've ever used. It's lightweight but sturdy. The paper clamp/guide is superb. And, the 18 overall size makes it multipurpose. It also comes with replacement rotary wheel blades. I've traditionally been a fan of guillotine paper cutters for accuracy, but this device has now become my 1.

I purchased this cutter to cut 80 - 100 pt chipboard. What an improvement over using a ruler and utility knife. My hands and sanity approve the investment! Much better edges, accuracy and safety. It will take several passes to cut the chipboard, but still, it is much easier than a utility knife.

So far, this Carl 15 heavy duty paper trimmer is working great for cutting cardstock, Kraft board, cardboard and light to medium weight chip board. It cuts a single sheet of 110 lb. cardstock without a problem. For the heavier weight papers, I have to make several passes with the rotary blade, but that is not a problem since this trimmer has a locking rail that holds the paper firmly in place. This might be my favorite feature. Other trimmers that I considered buying did not have this feature. The product description says you can cut 36 sheets of 20 lb. paper, but I have not done that since I don't need to cut multiple pieces of cardstock or paper at a time. I imagine that will work, but you will probably have to make a few passes with the blade. It cuts accurately- but you have to square up your paper, since most paper is NOT square, even quality cardstock. Very important. If the paper isn't square, you can't get accurate cuts.It also has an adjustable magnetic paper guide that can be put on either the top of the trimmer or the bottom. Or you can use the trimmer without the magnetic paper guide. Other nice features are the metal base board with a measurement grid and a storage compartment for extra blades and cutting mats. It comes with an extra cutting blade, perforating blade and extra cutting mat. None of the other trimmers that I considered buying had a perforating blade so that is a plus. I also like the fact that I can easily replace the blade when it gets dull. As far as the weight of this cutter, it is not heavy. It is not very light, but I have no problem moving it around.I am very happy with this purchase. I recommend this trimmer if you need cut heavier weight paper.

I've trimmed all 4 sides of approx 4,000 sheets of paper now and it still cuts as nice as it did in the beginning. I cut 30 sheets at a time and it has no problem what so ever. I've cut as many as 37-38 at once before the arm doesn't raise high enough to fit any more sheets under it, although I think the blade could cut more if it went higher. The ONLY thing I had trouble with at first was using the included magnetic piece to straighten the stack of papers before cutting them. It isn't easy to make slight adjustments with and I was having a hard time with the cut changing down the stack. Now, I place a ruler along the groove where the replaceable cutting mat lies and I butt the stack of papers up against the ruler and it helps me make perfect cuts everytime. This has saved me soo much time in making my tri-fold brochures for my business. I should have bought it a long time ago!

Few things to take note of:1. I'm not sure why I assumed getting a 25 cutter meant you can cut things that are under that size accurately. It's 12 wide. There's no guide beyond that. So as long as what you're cutting is under 12 wide, you can go up to 25 long.Seems weird that no matter what length cutter you get, and I've seen them for sale 4 and 5 feet long, you can only chop to 12.2. I think companies confuse solid with heavy. This is heavy, and won't move while you're working, but overall still feels very cheaply built. Which brings us to:3. While the surface is metal, the magnet and the paper guide are PLASTIC, and worst of all, the paper guide, which is attached to the metal base, MOVES. It's just clipped in, using the same cheap plastic.I cut 100 sheets (two at a time - this can't really handle a mild stack of ANY paper) of really expensive archival 13x19 photo paper before I realized it was chopping a 32ndth of an inch short on one end. That might not seem like a big deal, until every print starts coming out with ink smears from full bleed overspray, because the printer expects paper where there isn't any.I wanted to like this. The search continues.

Cuts with several passes, hard to get the chipboard in the guide, hard to check exactly where it is going to cut. But it is the most affordable cutter for the thickness I need

Heavy duty and cuts decently, but you really must press down. I like it much better than our old friction guillotine one. I like having various kinds of blades for different tasks. The only downside we've experienced is that you do have to press down a lot to get it to cut. When you do, it cuts well. I do NOT believe this will do 36 sheets. The most we've done is 15 and that was pushing it from what we could tell.
