I bought this for a belly dance class. I like the hip scarf because it's colorful! However, when I wear it, it doesn't give the same sound of jingling coins as other scarves do. I ended up using both this and a coin scarf for awhile. But now, I find I prefer a scarf with lots of coins and hence lots of sound, so I know I'm moving right.

This hip scarf is absolutely beautiful! It's a fantastic size, and it's just so colorful and jingly that I can't imagine not feeling beautiful with it on. It's the perfect scarf for your belly-dance classes :)

I'm definitely plus-sized and just started gym and Zumba classes to do something about it. I went to the first class, got hooked and came home to look for a hip scarf. The ones sold at the gym are for average-sized people and despite assurances that "lots of plus-sized ladies are able to wear them," I came home to research something more my size. Wearing a hip scarf with two inches of ties because the rest of it is around your hips isn't attractive.I noticed in class that the women who had the most "sparkles" tended to move most vigorously, even if they weren't the most fit, so that was my search criteria. I was delighted by the appearance of this scarf online, placed my order (despite the hefty shipping charge that equaled almost half of the purchase price) and anxiously waited for it to arrive in time for my next class. It came two days after the expected arrival date -- and my next class -- which accounted for a four-star review for the seller (better to tell me it will be later and arrive early than vice versa). My recommendation for the seller would be to use the small USPS Priority Mail box for less than $6 shipping, which would get the item delivered quicker and cheaper and not require additional packing materials.The scarf is absolutely beautiful, well-made and surprisingly heavy, due to the pailettes. I've been sewing and doing needlework for over 40 years and look first at craftsmanship. The materials are excellent, from the fabric to the uniform spacing and strength of the stitches securing the pailettes and coins to the fabric. When I wore it to class, every woman there came to admire it!The scarf fits around my hips with the ties approximately the same length as those shown in the picture and provides satisfyingly loud feedback in class, a real incentive to "shake my tail feathers". My goal is to slim down enough to buy this exact same scarf -- in the regular size. Even with the cost of shipping, this scarf is worth every cent I paid for it!
