Sucanat stands for (Sugar Cane Natural)
Sucanat is made from 100% sugar cane. Because Sucanat still contains all of the cane's natural molasses, it has a deep brown color and a distinct, natural molasses flavor that enhances many foods. It can be substituted for brown sugar in any recipe and it is especially good in chocolate-based recipes, for baking and for BBQ sauces and marinades. It is an excellent source of iron, calcium, vitamin B6, potassium and chromium, which helps balance blood sugar.

Sucanat is produced by simply crushing the freshly-cut sugar cane to squeeze out the juice, heating until it is reduced to a thick syrup and then hand-paddling to create the porous Sucanat granules. And that is it, Sucanat is a dehydrated whole cane sugar that has not been separated or blended, basically nothing has been added and nothing taken out!

This natural, porous granule contains all of the sugar cane's molasses and sucrose. Quick dissolving, rich in nutrients with a wonderful flavor. Great in sauces and chocolates.

I ALWAYS Love this product. I use as instead of white sugar, and to replace brown sugar. I buy extra as I can afford, so that I don't run out.
