The picture is an anoid rod out of a 17 month HWH. Need an impact gun to get the rod out. It's like A.O. Smith used thread lock on the factory rod. The new rod was a perfect size and of course fit.

Easy to install. 29 in anode rod. Tip: ensure that you have the right tools. 1- 1/16 inch deep socket and a Breaker bar and tef tape. These things are on tight so don't attempt on empty tank and don't attempt without a breaker bar. Take a look at the bar after 7 years. I'd say it went a little too long.

Before you buy this make sure you have sufficient room to install it.. Some heater enclosures may not have sufficient room above the heater to install the new rod.. You may need a sectional rod that is like a string of hot dogs instead of a solid one . Tool wise you will require a 1 1/16 inch deep socket. And a breaker bar or pipe will help..

Replaced the old anode just in time. Didn't notice where this is a 6, 9, or 12 year rated. It's an easy fit between joists.

I thought I was getting a 42 inch anode rode but I found out when they came that they were only 29 inch rods. I put them in anyhow because the old rods we badly used up. I knew these would work until the new rods came. I ordered new 42 inch rods from a different company but at nearly the same price an as the 29 inch rods had cost. I put the correct rods in and all is good again. I kept the 29 inch rods in case I need a rod in the future while the 42 inch rods can get here.
