I use these to cut zip ties and other soft material. It makes cutting anything that is flush against a material easy. For wire, I have proper wire cutters. The only improvement I would make is adding a sheath of some sort so the sharp points don't dig into your bag.

Zip ties, wires, plastic, even some metals. These flush cutters are fantastic and the best I've found. Will likely continue to buy these Hakko cutters for a long long time.Obviously they do wear over time, with a few “misuses” lol. I use them for a number of difficult and high-stress tasks that they probably aren't designed for, but they usually do the job perfectly anyway. Eventually, under my heavy misuse (maybe like over 4 years), they get dull or the blades misalign, or something like that. But they work so well I'll probably just buy more whenever I need new ones lol. They're also decently priced, so it's not a huge deal for me to buy a pack of 2 or 3 to have them around.

These were my 4th cutters, in my line of experimenting with cutters for jewelry work. They are not the finest for the tiniest tip cutting that I have owned, but they are good close clippers with a clean small cut and a fairly fine tip, with strength enough to cut 18 gauge copper wire.For the price, they are unbeatableSOFT WIRE CUTTERS -- NOT FOR STAINLESS STEELSo, I have ordered replacements (2 pair) for my worn out (identical) clippers, that I have used extensively for 5 years.The two clippers that just arrived, are well aligned, and nicely sharp - and that is exactly what I expected, from my past experience with these.These are an excellent asset to your small-tool tool box.

Just got 2 pairs. I have used it to cut hard plastic, what I will feel hard to cut with scissors and hard to fine-cut with bigger tools. It works as I expected. They feel solid in my hand.
