I didn't realize when I moved from an Onkyo to Denon A/V receiver that the Denon would run so much hotter. In my entertainment center, the temps got way too high for comfort (and the likely life expectancy of my expensive receiver). This thing really works well. I set it to 'smart mode' via the easy instructions, and it does what it needs to; turns on when needed, and adjusts the fan appropriately. In my situation, the fan goes to 1/2 speed to keep the receiver nice and cool when playing 9.2.2 Dolby Atmos encoded movies. The cabinet stays at room temperature. If you manually set the fan to high speed, it is quite loud for this type of device, but I have not had it go above 1/2 speed in smart mode where it is barely noticeable. I also have some Crown amps going for the subs which have also fans, and they are likely contributing to the very low fan noise (which disappears with any type of speaker output). I can't hear them unless I put my ear close to the entertainment center, but my wife can at completely silent points in movies. You do need an open back for this particular unit to vent out of, and some way to get air from the bottom of your receiver. I cut some holes in my receiver's shelf to improve the air flow.

Purchased direct from AC Infinity 1 month ago. I learned that setting up with fans limited to 1/2 speed does the cooling job on my Denon 4520 in a console. Flexible set-up allows me to run cooling below an audible threshold with a little set-up experimentation. Good product. Case build reminds me of the OPPO players from 15yrs-ago, nice feel to it.

This unit was the answer to my problem. My new Denon home theater system was creating an alarming amount of heat inside the cabinet that I keep my electronics in. Trouble free and automatic. It keeps things cool. I definitely recommend this fan unit!

I was impressed with how the unit was packaged. The unit is well built with a solid feel. It was easy to set up. Fans are quiet but adequately move enough air.

Update (Sept. 14, 2022):Sent AC Infinity an e-mail asking if my unit is still under warranty. Their reply was quick. They sent me a new unit no questions asked. Got the new unit today!Sept. 2, 2022:Auto temperature sensing was very responsive to temperature changes.I can hear the fan from 10 feet away at number 2 speed with audio system off which real is not a deal breaker. It was good until it lasted. Bought this unit October of 2021. Yesterday, September 4, 2022, auto sensing stopped working. Lights that indicate fan speed also stopped working.

Does a good job of cooling and the automation of temperature control handles the job effectively. There is a little too much fan noise at level 3 and you would never want to run the fans at full speed. I currently have my receiver out of the cabinet for testing purposes, if it were in the cabinet, I wouldn't be as aware of the noise, but I am sure the db rating provided in the specs is for the lowest setting. The fans in my computer are quieter than these, so I will investigate a fan replacement. Additional benefit to the system is to form a skirt around the perimeter of the unit using foam weather strip. This reduced the leak-around of air and pulled more air through the receiver while reducing the sound somewhate.

This is a very good product. I'm using this with a Denon AVR-X4700H that runs hot. I chose this over the more expensive T8 because, IMHO, the T8 just offers too many customization options. The S8 is the same size and pushes the same amount of air. The S8 does it's job, and is virtually silent, unless running at its top (fourth) speed. Then there is a noticeable whine. It's not intrusive, but it's there. If it were not for that whine I would have given it five stars.

I have an enclosed cabinet for my a/v receiver. When the cabinet was closed my receiver would overheat, had to keep cabinet open, not good with my grandchildren running around. With is unit I can keep cabinet closed and it very efficiently keeps receiver cool. Love the automatic function where it adjusts fan speed when needed. On low speeds very quiet, of course when at it highest speed you can hear it but not enough to distract from listening experience. Very well made. Wish I had purchased this sooner because my older receiver overheated and had to replace it. This keeps my newer cool.
