I have used this product for many years to mount rifle scopes. Put a dab on the inside of each ring half, set your scope and level it, and then tighten down your rings. After that, your scope isn't moving anywhere. That is, unless you want it to in which case you can unscrew the rings and peel the product off the rings and scope surface. Leaves no traces. It's like a really strong rubber cement in a way.
