The first unit received had a bad audio channel that failed when the volume went above 30. After contacting the vendor, a replacement arrived within 2 to 3 days and it works as expected. A responsive vendor is rare in these days of 'greed is more important than life itself' (think climate change). I would have given 5 stars but the original unit arrived DOA.This does a resonable job of suppressing the loud advertisements and boosted audience applause found on most TV shows and movies.Good job from this vendor.

I was looking for a way to turn up Ps5s volume in Modern warfare 2 to hear footsteps better, however if you do that the act of shooting your gun is so loud and grenades and flashbangs are so insanely loud it's physically painful, and obviously bad for your ears. With this little guy I can turn the volume way up, and filter down all the excessive noise from gunshots and explosions.Honestly, this is kind of cheating if I'm to be honest. I can hear way more than other people bc footstep audio isn't loud enough to trigger the limiter, so I can get the volume up really really high to where normally footsteps would be nearly inaudible for everyone else, but crazy loud for me. Not to mention before the limiter, the audio is being pushed through a bellari EQ so I can adjust frequencies as well(ie turn down that ear piercing head shot tinnitus sound).I'd give it a full 5 if it weren't for me having to turn on my phones flash light to see where the threshold is at when I'm adjusting it so I can note it's position for later. Also the threshold knob arrow thing is full black, I'll have to put whiteout or pain in the little indicator thing to see it easier. Also you have to guesstimate where exactly the knob is positions since there are no hash marks around the knobs.But for what $80-90 bucks, it's the only thing I could find that didn't jump into the 150-1000 range, and those turn into compressor/limiters. I just wanted something to quiet down the explosions and gun shots.... This works perfectly.Also... I now have bought 3 rolls products back to back to back, the mixer, belarri eq and now this limiter.Can I tell you how awesome it is/was to not have had to go with different manufacturers. One stop shop.

I'm craving this unit (for our TV), but I hesitate due to its lack of a bypass switch, to bypass the limiter for movies and shows with gentle soundtracks. Rolls -- Please perfect it by adding a bypass switch!

I'm using this to level out the audio levels of different CD's in a jukebox. Most newer CD's tend to have higher audio levels than older released ones. This compresses the audio of the louder tracks. The drawback is loss of fidelity. But for a jukebox I can live with it.

I had to give it an output level control to get optimal levels for my needs.It works for reducing dynamics in film when listening in low volume, and to limit max sound level in purpose to save speakers and ears. It was pretty much exact what I was looking for.
