Bands are thick and absorbent. Yes they are a little tight, but tighter is better than looser as they stay put.

These are adequate, but somewhat tight on my head. I am a 6' 2 tall male with an average size head. I expected more thickness, which would be more absorbent since I perspire a lot working outside in the hot sun. They are a good deal for the cost.
