Bought this a while ago for our family game nights. So, much fun. Easy to play with kids of all ages. Codenames itself is a pretty easy to explain game when bringing in new people, and the disney edition makes it accessible to families and young kids that otherwise couldn't play the traditional version. Also the pictures create opportunities for fun different interpretations of clues which adds to the replayability of this game

My wife really enjoys playing games and board games with the family and this was a great addition to her collection. If you are familiar with the original game you won't be surprised to find this is exactly the same except with the expected Disney pictures. The pictures help expand the age ranges you can play this with since reading isn't required. We enjoyed this version and plan to try playing it with the other version we already have and do a mix of cards from each deck. A great pick for a family game.

I love this game! It was introduced to me by friends years ago and I finally purchased for myself. It can be easily adapted for young ages as well. Lots of fun!

If you love the traditional Codenames, you'll enjoy this game -HOWEVERa prior knowledge of Disney movies/characters/shows is almost required if you want to be competitive with your friends. I lost 5 games in a row against friends who either love Disney or work at Disney, and I started having to memorize characters/backgrounds to get comfortable with the game. There are words that you can piece together clues with without Disney knowledge, but it's that much harder to connect several words.

My family plays code names pretty often, and many of us are also huge Disney fans, so when we saw this it was a no brainer. We had some reservations about it being more for the kids (our family is older now), but tried it for the first time over the 4th of July weekend, and we couldnt have been more surprised by how it seemed HARDER than normal codenames, while still being possible to play with kids. Yes, that seems like an impossible combination, but it really came down to having a lot of similar words/themes with the cards, so it was hard to make a multi-card word work without potentially giving away points. However, a younger player could still go with single-card words (or use the pictures on the opposite side even) and still play with everyone else.So far weve been pleasantly surprised, and look forward to playing this version again soon.

So I am the board game person in my group of friends. I love to try out new games and this was always on my list. This is a fun game for any family who loves Disney. It is more challenging than expected, trying to getting multiple cards in one guess. You have the word side of the card and the picture side. They both have their difficulties. Word side is harder since you can not reference anything on the card but the picture side opens the game up to more confusing guesses since you can say sky and have multiple pictures with a sky when you intention was to get only one picture. I kind of wish the board cards were slightly bigger or at least the layout card. When you are the clue master, you are definitely in the hot seat trying to win for your team and i've messed up linking the wrong cards causing issues for the team since I looked at the wrong line but that's just me no fault of the game devs. You can play with odd number of people and have one clue master but the game takes longer since they have to do two jobs so try and have even teams. I would recommend this game for the family.

We choose to use all pictures instead of words when playing with younger kids- it’s easier for them to give clues/guess.

We bought this for my family reunion with all-adult siblings who were raised on all the traditional Disney movies. Many of us now have small children of our own, so we’re all staying relatively up on the current Disney/Pixar releases as well. And so i wasn’t scared off by the reviews who said the game was a bit hard for younger players. We didn’t play the word-side of the cards. Just the images. I think that was funner to reminisce. A couple siblings said they preferred the regular game, a couple said they preferred this one. For our family reunion, I preferred this because the whole POINT of a reunion is to reminisce on your childhood, right? Haha. Though one of our favorite aspects of code names (we have both the base set and the pictures “expansion”) is that you can connect many words/pictures through clever and abstract connections. When you play a themed game (cuz there are several themed versions), you’re narrowing down the abstract-ability of the clues you can give, and made it harder to get more than 1-3 tiles per clue (unless you lucked out and all the princesses, locations, or characters/scenes from a particular movie happened to be your tiles..) Overall, we enjoyed it for its purpose, and I’d do it again. Though our base set and pictures game are frequent choices at game nights, I don’t know that we’ll be playing this Disney version much.

Codenames is a super fun game that the whole extended family can play so I was excited about the Disney version for the kids. It is hard!! It's a fun game, but the game is a tough game! I do love that it has a 4x4 grid and a 5x5 grid so you can make it as small as you want.

We love this version. I like that my kids are able to play with me. We have 3 versions of code names now and I like this game. It takes longer to set up because you have to come up with associations with the words you are given but it is totally fun. And this version has pictures and words depending on what age and style you need for who is playing. So that's nice. I wonder if codename picture is different. So if you don't know a picture you can flip to the word side and use that. Or change for a new picture totally. There is a smaller board with no taboo word for easier play. Very good game
