Mission: Akshaya Patra means the unlimited bowl of abundance and sustenance. The organization began its operations in the year 2000 by serving 1,500 meals to a small group of local schools. With the vision to eliminate classroom hunger, Akshaya Patra has since scaled to serve over 1.8 million meals to children in over 20,000 government schools across 14 States and 2 Union Territories in India daily. Our Mid-day Meal program will reach 5 million children by 2025.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, we served over 240 million meals (Between March 2020 to April 2022) to individuals and families in need.

The Akshaya Patra Foundation USA is a 501(c)(3) organization, with an IRS ruling year of 2004, and donations are tax-deductible.
