My 6 piece cast iron is such versatile cookware, stove top to oven no problem. I love sauces and gravys and they come out perfect. they also fit my kitchen decor of rustic black and steel.

The cookware set is great for cooking outdoors, as well as, indoors. A whole meal can be prepared at one time with this set.

I'm switching over ... From nonstick pots & pans to stainless steel and cast iron, much healthier for you with not that much more maintenance.

Great for healthy cooking and can place in the oven to keep warm and then straight to the table. This is great for the price, too.

This was my very first set of cast iron that I bought and introduced me to the joys of cooking with that type of cookware. I have since expanded into somewhat of a collector of cast iron. When I first bought the set I was thrilled--it does cook evenly and holds heat well as cast iron is supposed to do. It seasoned fairly well and has not let me down. In retrospect, I do now know that this cast iron is "cheaper" than that made by Lodge, Wagner etc. and is "typical" of the Chinese sets. It has a rougher surface, is somewhat harder to season, and just has a thinner, cheaper feel to it. However, if you are new to cast iron and contemplating it but don't want to spend a lot of money, I would go for this one without hesitation. It comes with a skillet, dutch oven with a wire handle, chicken fryer, and a lid that fits all. It also has a bonus addition of a lid lifter and heat resistant handle cover, a very nice touch. The set is preseasoned, made in china, if that is a concern.

I put "cast iron cookware" on my Christmas list last year, and my husband got me this. First off, it's not very smooth, even after a year of continual use. I very carefully clean and re-season my cast iron after each use. Still, if I rub a paper towel over any of it, I'll have little bits of lint stuck all over it. My two Lodge pieces, which are newer, don't do that - they're much smoother. Also, this stuff is made in China. That doesn't sit well with me (I frankly can't believe my husband got me China stuff when we're trying so hard to get rid of chemicals and questionable items like this, but there you have it). Until someone can tell me that there is 100% absolutely no lead or other crap in there that the Chinese don't seem to mind tossing into things to make a buck or two, I'll always wonder. I'm slowly replacing all my Stansport stuff with Lodge for the above reasons. So I basically gave this stuff three stars because it holds my food well as I'm cooking. My two Lodge pieces are different sizes than the ones in this set and I use them whenever I can. I'll slowly switch out all these pieces too. And no, I don't work for Lodge. I happen to own the two brands and I like Lodge better for the aforementioned reasons.

I didn't see anywhere that this was made in china before I ordered it or I would not have ordered it.I am almost afraid to eat out of these because they probably put lead or poison in them.

I was really impressed with these. I loved the easy clean and the way they cook. More expensive pots and pans have a certain evenness in the heat when cooking. The metal core of the pan/pot dissipates the heat evenly. I've bought cheap pans that will have certain areas of the pan that burn food while other areas do not get hot. These work just as good as expensive copper core pots/pans at a bargain price. My only beef was that the must have been sitting a for a long time in some dirty warehouse. They arrived pretty dirty. Not a biggie though. I cleaned and seasoned them. Gonna BBQ with these this Summer! :-)

These are my first cast iron pans so I don't have anything to compare them to but I love them. I've used the frying pans most often and the dutch oven only once so far since buying this package a few months ago. I think they were pre-seasoned but the two frying pans did stick a bit on the first few uses. I've seasoned them a couple times on my own which really improved the non-stick surface. The combination of items in this package is really amazing. Everything you need and good quality for such a cheap price. The one complaint that I have (4 stars instead of 5) is that I'm not so sure about the heat conductivity. I have a burner on my stove that is out in one spot, which is always a problem when cooking. I thought this shouldn't be a factor for cast iron because every inch of the pan should distribute heat evenly but I've still have this problem with both of the cast iron frying pans. Overall though I love the way they cook. Cast iron is, by nature, versatile and a great companion in the kitchen. These are good cast iron pans.

I was disappointed in the preseasoning of the cookwear. The skillet was hardly seasoned at all and everything sticks. The lid rusted in several places after cleaning it with just water and setting it out to dry.I think I may have to reseason some item right away. Since preseasoned cast iron cookwear costs more than unseasoned, I fell this is overpriced and the preseasoning is of poor quality.

This is one of the few purchases that I feel really was worth it's online time!! I thought i was going to have isssues with the lid on the dutch oven due to the rounded top, but the lid, inverted serves both as a drip back and a coal holder...awesome!!Add the free shipping and presto mundo....online FTW!!

I bought these cookware set a month ago. I have seasoned them, although they are already pre-seasoned. I would recommend doing it to avoid stickiness. They are great pans, but require care, not to say that they are healthy. I am satisfied with my purchase.
