Mission: The foundation supports school nutrition professionals working to feed America's students so they are ready to learn.

Results: The foundation:
•Provides over $100,000 annually in professional development scholarships for SNA members.
•Has provided millions of dollars to schools throughout the country to expand breakfast programs through our grant from the Walmart Foundation. As a result, over 60,000 more students are eating breakfast.
•Honors five School Nutrition Heroes annually who go above and beyond in serving their schools and their communities.
•Supports SNA with advocacy and public relations resources through the SNF ”Invest in Us” endowment.
•Partners with allied organizations to develop programs that address child hunger and food insecurity.

Direct beneficiaries per year: Provide more than $2.4 million in grants, professional development and scholarships to school nutrition professionals across the country. We provided $600,000+ in emergency feeding grants to school districts to help supplement the purchase of food products, containers, equipment and personal protection equipment during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Programs: Breakfast in the Classroom - through a grant from Walmart Foundation, SNF and it's Breakfast in the Classroom partners provides grants to schools to expand their meal program to include breakfast after the bell. Invest in us - this endowed fund created in 1993 provides a reliable source of income to help fund special public education and awareness efforts targeting all those who influence the eating habits of children as well as the children themselves. Professional Development Scholarships - funded by the Foundation, the School Nutrition Association, and industry supporters. More than $100,000 in scholarships are awarded annually. Equipment Grants - SNF provides grants to schools to improve and update school kitchens.
