The look is great! Could use a metal slider that would allow elastic to be adjusted. We are using with dance shoes, not regualr shoes. The elastic is just loose enough they might shift during a dance number, and therefore distract from the authenticity of the look.

My son wore these for a school play over his plain black sneakers and it madethem look just like pilgrim shoes from the stage. Totally worth it rather than buying dress shoes. He wears a mens 8 so they work for adults too!

Perfect for adding to a pair of black modern loafers to change the look to something you would see a Leprechaun wearing. I plan on doing just that to wear as part of a costume for St. Patty's day. They have an elastic band to help hold them in place. I think this is supposed to go around your foot first before you put your shoes on. Or in my case, my loafers have a tongue and I will be able to secure these to that with the elastic band. I may use a piece of duct tape rolled up to help stick these to my shoes in case. I don't want to use a glue. If you have laces the black part of this will likely be able to be secured by unlacing and lacing back up grabbing the elastic band, and this would cover your laces. For the money, for what these do to change a plain pair of black shoes, I definitely recommend them. Rob

These worked great! Certainly not historically accurate but worked great for my Alexander Hamilton costume for a Halloween party. I managed to get the elastic inside my black running shoe with buckles outside. Can't imagine they'd hold up if you tried to put elastic outside. Well worth the price. Really made entire costume look good.
