This is a set of 4 Aulos recorders being sold by OpenTip at a great price. I was sceptical when I saw this listing, never having shopped with OpenTip before, concerned that I would not get an authentic set of recorders. However not only was the price significantly less than other sites, but this item was sent quickly via FedEx and is authentic recorders by Aulos. OpenTip also sent me an email saying when the item shipped and including a link to FedEx so I could track the order.
I'm just beginning to learn to play the recorder and this is a great set to start with. It includes Sopranino, Soprano, Alto, and Tenor recorders all with baroque fingering. The tenor has keys for the bottom note to form the C and C# notes. These also include removable thumb rests for the larger 3 recorders. This set also includes a hard case with plush red interior lining which perfectly fits all 4 recorders; when closed it is about the size of a small business brief case. The recorders and the case are all made in Japan, which is a good thing.
If you are thinking of buying this item I would encourage you to pull the trigger - I'm glad I did!

This is a great set of recorders. I am fairly new to playing the recorder but am a professional musician. I play oboe, English horn and clarinet. I decided I wanted to learn the recorder. So I purchased this set to start on.
I also purchased a Yamaha 300 series soprano and alto from the local music store. In general, the Aulos Soprano and Alto recorders are very similar to the Yamaha with wider tip openings so the Aulos clogs much less frequently.
Sopranino: very responsive little instrument with clear sound. easy to play.
Soprano: Good tone, great low register response. Response on high B and C could be better.
Alto: very good instrument so far. but still learning it. at least comparable to the Yamaha
Tenor: this instrument is probably the best out of the set. great tone, easy response across all registers.
Case: the case is good quality for the price. It is definitely a nice addition. the felt inserts around the instruments feel like not the highest quality. But you won't find better at this price. You can probably purchase the instruments independently for close to $200. But the case is well worth the added cost. Especially if you will travel with these instruments.

The set of recorders arrived in a timely manner. All the recorders sound great and the case is very nice. It is nicer and more convenient than zipper bags.
