I put this on my dogs paws every two days in winter. If I don't, during the coldest days when the dogs spend time out walking on frozen ground with lots of hard snow, their paws hurt enough for them to lift a paw on the way back to the house. When I use this (teaspoon smeared between the pads, some rubbed on the outside of the paw) their paws are healthier and they can spend more time outside without discomfort. A must for non-arctic dogs spending time outside in temperatures below 20F, especially on concrete.

I apply it with the dogs on a dollar store area carpet that gets the excess off when they come in. The carpet pad gets the wax excess so it doesn't get tracked into the house. Toss the carpet when it looks bad and grab another (every two years for me).
