Mission: Mountain Valley Horse Rescue (MVHR)’s Mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome abused, neglected, abandoned, and unwanted equines. MVHR also works to reduce cases of equine abuse and neglect through community education and outreach.

Results: Since MVHR's inception, we have helped hundreds of horses in transition find loving, adoptive homes. We work every year to expand our reach, helping more horses, but also changing the lives of all of the people who have the chance to meet the horses and participate in their recovery.

Target demographics: abused, neglected and unwanted horses

Direct beneficiaries per year: dozens of horses recover and find loving homes.

Geographic areas served: Western Colorado

Programs: physical rehabilitation for abuse and neglect, with eventual adoption into loving homes. We also work to reduce the incidence of horse abuse and neglect through extensive community outreach and education.
