I like black walnut ice cream which is sometimes hard to find. So, I bought vanilla and added these walnuts to it and enjoyed black walnut ice cream.

I ate a lot of black walnuts when I was a kid and loved them. Theses nuts were terrible tasting.

This is pricey but if you want convenience you're gonna pay for it. Black walnuts are messy and hard to crack even after you get them out of the husk and soak the shells to soften them. So I think you are getting out of a ton of work when you buy these.

I don't care for black walnuts but used for ice cream as a gift and recipient loved the flavor and they used rest of nuts for baking. They loved it so posting review on their behalf. The pieces are pretty small but good for baking or ice cream as I used it for.

Black walnuts hard to find in stores except in tiny one serve size packages but still thought price high and that's the reason for the 4 star rating.
