Replaced a KLH 150 rms old school powered home subwoofer that I've had for about 20 years, and was very surprised at the frequency response. Friend of mine told me about the sub. So I had already heard it before I bought it.

I needed a sub woofer speaker to replace the one in my unit. I was unable to find one with the same shape mounting flange and gambled that I would be able to alter the cabinet and use this one. I was able to reshape the mounting area and although a very close fit, I was able to get enough surface area for the mounting screws. Only reason for only four stars in Easy to install was due to having to take time to remodel and the possible chance of ruining my Boston Accoustic sub woofer cabinet. Not Goldwood's fault, everyone's for not making a similar flange.Once all of that was done and it was fired up it sounded great. No buzz or vibration and I'm not positive, but I believe it actually sounds better than the original Boston Accoustics speaker. Very pleased with the outcome: great price, quick delivery and successful remodeling.

I'm no audiophile, but the 18 year old sub it replaced in my theater set sounded pretty bad. This sounds clean and clear. It's no monster, but it does exactly what I needed it to.I had to enlarge the mounting hole in the enclosure. So I guess it may be a bit larger than standard.

This sub was a drop-in fit in a Polk Audio PSW10 enclosure, even the mounting holes lined up perfectly.The original driver would rattle so I replaced it with this driver. No more rattle, although I now believe the problem was with Polk's plastic trim ring.

I have the 10 and 12 Goodwood woofers. I install the 10 in a set speakers I made for home use. The woofers look well made, Install them bass was kinda soft at 1st it took about a week and now are coming alive really smooth not boom boom like you here in people's cars. I'm not looking for heavy bass that over powers the music but blinds with the music. If you have music with heavy notes they will handle it, very will well. If your building new speakers with crossovers give them time to break in. I have the 8ohms sets I posted few pics.Update - added the 12 woofers to the cabinets sides. Wow really great sounding speakers. 12 is wired directly to the binding posts. And the rest of the drivers is hook to the crossovers. speaker's packing/insulation plays a big roll in shapping the lower bass notes. Really please the way these turn out.

I've been testing out inexpensive speaker equipment with my home made amplifiers for the last two years and with the addition of these subs, my system is now entirely goldwood speakers and subwoofers. Their HDS kevlar ceiling sub has never rattled apart, so I have two of those as well. They're the most reliable brand, with no frills design, high sensitivities, and to date, not a single burnt driver in my speaker graveyard. Goldwood reports and performs accurately to specifications. This model jives well with the TDA8954TH chip, but be aware that this amplifier chip is designed for 8-ohm impedance only when in BTL, which is the only configuration that delivers the desired 420W per channel to run this subwoofer. The chip is compatible with lower impedance in stereo mode which may be confusing if the board runs two chips in mono-BTL to create an overall stereo, 2 channel, amplifier board..
