The wood was a splintered mess at every edge and corner. I should have sent it back because it wasnt worth what I paid. I ended up spending several hours sanding it to make it usable.

I love that I can use this one frame for a variety of project sizes. It is easy to assemble and use.The only con, which is why I docked a star: It's a bit unfinished. There were splinters that I had to smooth out from the pieces before using.I wish I bought this frame first instead of the more expensive one that I can't adjust. It would've saved me $30.

This is a very flimsy frame. The wood bends easily and the hardware is useless. Perhaps the wing nuts were the wrong size. We had to replace all the hardware and buy washers so the hardware would not dig into the soft wood.

This scroll is perfect for a couple of cross stitch projects I'm working on, but the wing nuts that come with the set are absolute garbage and don't tighten or hold anything. I brought the end pieces to my local hardware shop so they could get the right size replacement. At 33 cents per wing nut, my scroll is now pretty darn perfect and works just right.

I like this particular brand of scroll embroidery frames. They are well made. You don't get the creases in your work like embroidery hoops and PVC type holders. They don't hold the work completely taut, but if you press down on the Aida cloth with the thumb of your non dominant hand, it does keep it tight as you're stitching. Hint: put masking tape on the edges of the Aida cloth to prevent raveling and prevent the thread from getting caught in the rough edges.
