I needed a high power handling speaker for a single 12' cabinet. The cabinet came with a greenback which I love but the different amplifiers that I'm going to use for it are more than 25 W. I bought one of these used from a guy who used it a few times and sold it to me. I wish I would have known that it is very dark sounding, it sounds like the tone on your guitar is all the way down to 1 or 2, I have the treble turned almost all the way up to get any highs out of it. I didn't sound that great with a boutique Fender style amp but it sounded great with my 1982 Hiwatt 50w combo. If you have a very trebly amp, thos would be great. Higher powered amps work great with it as well. The Celestions and other speakers that I use sound great with every amp I have (about 10), I have Fanes, Jensen and other Eminence speakers but this is just too dark sounding for my lower wattage Fender style amps. I will see if when it breaks in it might lighten up, if not I'll switch it out to a Celestion and use this for the Hiwatt.

I wanted mix one wheelhouse and a brighter Neo speaker but couldn't find something I liked so I got a second wheelhouse. Love the tone! This should also lighten the amp a bit(a twin will never be light). I play Strats acn Teles and with these Speakers, they sing!

Bought this to use in a 112 cab with a 150 watt head. This speaker is pretty flat-sounding, and that's a very good thing. It doesn't have any weird frequency peaks or dips, just a pretty even response across the board. Especially in a loud stage mix that is a positive thing. Having used speakers with those mix-penetrating presence peaks, I have found that in an actual stage mix everything but the boosted frequencies get washed out, and the result is an excessively skinny stage sound. The Wheelhouse cuts through nicely without thinning out too much. I'm not certain, but I suspect the hemp cone has a good bit to do with this, keeping a speaker smooth that might easily sound shrill with a different cone material. I have been using Eminence speakers for more than fifteen years in all of my amps, and this one is my favorite yet.
