Good product for a fair price. I wanted a new clean pair of cutters for installing strings on my guitars. This easily and cleanly cuts all the strings, even the thinnest high "E" strings.

good cutter i don't use them for cutting wire. I use them for deburring parts.

I recently bought a hot staple plastic welder and the flush cutting dykes that came with the kit were as brittle as a crispy cookie..... cutting the staples broke off the blade edges with each cut. I tried 15 different brands of diagonal and end cutters trying to get some strong enough to withstand the hard steel staples and also have a flush cut and all of the others I tried had deeply beveled edges which left an 1/8th inch or more protruding staple after the cut ....These Crescent brand were the best of all I tried...they are not totally flush cutters but they are slightly beveled on the flat side which left only about 1/32nd of an inch protruding wire, the edges were strong and not brittle and cut through the hard wire with little effort. The description does not specifically state ability to cut hard or piano wire and reviews are contradictory in this regard so I am unsure as to that aspect of the cutters but for the metal staples used in plastic welding they work great. I searched for completely flat flush cutters with no grind bevel and the only ones I could find that were both flat flush and tough enough for hard spring wire were from a specialty tool company 'Shor International' out of Switzerland and cost $256

Cuts well but joint is quite stiff and a little hard to open jaws.

This definitely clips as close as possible and not as hard on the hands either.
