My only complaint is that it clouds the water for longer than I'd prefer. I have a 29 gal bio and it takes over 2 hours to fully clear up, but the product works great. A little every day and within a week I can see Coralline algae starting to form.

Don't get nervous about the cloudiness, it does away after a few hours. This is also a great buffer.Great! Great great great

This is an awesome product, but patience is key when using it. I have a 55 gallon tank, I think I did not see results of purple algae until about 3 months later, but once it came it begin to spread like crazy! Good buy!

I've used it for years and it works great. Nothing compares. Some products are cheap but if you look at the dosage you use more and end of wasting your money. Dosage matters. Always check dosage.

I'm not sure what the reviews saying it doesn't work are about, because it does, and has for a long time. Purple up does it's job and get coraline started and continued. I've been using it for a long time and started up a new tank in January, a 28g Nano Cube and it works really well. It took about 3-4 weeks to see good progress, and within 2 months the tank is covered like it should be. I really like it, and use it every now and then when I think about it to keep the levels of coraline growing. I have never seen a spike in Ph levels because of it, and it doesn't affect any of my other levels but calcium.

Okay this product had mixed reviews but I really wanted the purple rocks sooo gave it a try. I have used it over two months and its very slow to happen. I just now have purple growing but it also grows on the tank glass where I want it clean to see my fish... didn't know that. I will cont to use this product until I finish it I use it at night before I turn the lights off only because it really clouds up the water and hate to see that during the day by the time the lights come on in the morn its crystal clear again. The fish, corals and starfish etc don't see to mind it although they hide when the cloud comes through... I wish it worked faster with less product but no such luck I will however cont to use this product because I like the purple look.. the price was fair and shipping out was fairly fast.

Purple Up has worked for me. I love the product. It's easy to use. Just add the recommended amount on the label. My live rock has never looked better and purple algae is growing on everything in my tank. I have to clean the front of the tank all the time to prevent purple algae from growing there too. Be patient and consistent with it and you will get results like you never before.

If you have a REEF-tank or a F.O.W.L.R-tank, this stuff is a must. You will be amazed at how much faster the coraline algae will grow.

Works good. Takes some time to work. Don't expect overnight results. Takes time to start working. Also if you have shrimp be carefull as it can kill them. It takes 5-10ml per fifty gallons. It can get costly. Water changes will also keep levels up. It's easy just to add PurpleUp.

I think this stuff works. I am sure it would. However...keeping your levels in check will have the same result. From a fresh setup it'll take a tank about 6 months to start producing coralline and from there it can be quite prolific. Mine produces its own. I have used purple up but never seen any so called acceleration. My friend has a tank set up for about 3 years, never used an accelerator and he can't scrape the coralline off the glass fast enough. He runs his calcium level 460-500 ppm. Mine is more 420-440 ppm. Personally I wouldn't bother using it..it's just another consumable taking your money.

Purple-Up is good if you have a mid to small size tank. We have a 90 gallon and it takes 2 cap fulls, so I am setting up a Kasserwasser drip bottle. I liked the way Purple-Up rapidly gave me purple algae on the snails and then the rocks. But to add calcium to a large tank like mine I need to buy it in gallon jugs ($80-$100) which would last 6 months.
