My seat tube was 30.4mm and my new dropper post is 30.9mm.I got the size slightly larger and it worked great. I used WD40 and that made a mess and probably made things worse.I ended up using a sanding/sander eraser after some passes to clean the honing tool.It took a while, like a long time, but I test fit and test fit until it slipped in

First off a little tip. Use some transmission oil on the hone to make this tool last longer. I've used this hone on 2 cylinders so far. The first had a few scratches you can feel with your finger nail. Foe the price of a oem cylinder I decided to give the hone a try to see if I could make the cylinder work for another piston or two. After carefully working the hone I managed to get all of the scratches to the point of not being able to feel them with my finger nail anymore and the cylinder looked new.As far as the second cylinder just recently had no scratches in it but the cross hatch was all but gone. This hone, transmission fluid, and about 45 seconds later I had a beautiful cross hatched cylinder again.

Used this for my nikasil cylinder on my Crf250r. Only did 6 passes to get the glaze off the cylinder and it worked perfectly.

This is an easy way to remove a small amount of metal from cylinders. It creates a smooth surface. I would recommend this item to others who wish to enlarge the inside of a cylinder.

Used this for my Predator 212cc go kart build, where I was swapping to a flat top piston for additional compression. While the cylinder didn't look bad to begin with, this hone made it look great. I coated the hone in oil and utilized it for around 30 seconds per the instructions. Can't wait to use its again on the next build!

Honed a Golfcart cylinder in no time, removed fine scratches and ridge at top of cylinder in under 5 minutes. Pricey but cheaper than a machine shop and frankly equal results for all I needed.

Saw this bore in a YouTube video and the speed and ease of use prompted me to buy this. Worked just like the video, make sure to bore from the bottom up with plenty of lube. Made I think 5 or 6 passes to get the cross hatch. Bore and new rings success - no more smoke and restored power for this classic Big Red.

I have six of these now, and I buy a new one if I need a size I don't have. They work perfectly to take the glaze off of a motorcycle cylinder before installing a new piston and/or rings. They are sturdy, and last a very long time if treated well.Pro Tip:Dip them in transmission fluid before honing.
