This was purchased as a gift for a young friend of mine who loves horses. Black Beauty is her favorite book and I felt that she should have a figure of the horse. She was very pleased with her gift.For anyone who hasn't read the book, it ends well for Black Beauty but there is alot of sadness along the way. The author wrote this story to make people aware of how horses were being mistreated/abused by their owners and trainers during a time when people owned carriage horses.

the book and horse it self was adorable! had a hard time finding out the gender (we came to the conclusion it was a mare in the end) and the paint scratched a little but i still 100 recomend it.
