Bought this for my son to use while on a seven day camping trip. He had a blast camping and hiking and we felt secure being able to track his progress. Unfortunately, once he packed all his equipment back to the vehicle my son discovered no keys and no cell service. We were able to message back and forth through the bivy stick to arrange a tow .

Great device and great value. I've taken it on many hikes now and being able to communicate with friends/family while way out in the wild is great. Also let's you share your location, check weather, and maps although having a dedicated GPS map service should be part of your gear load-out anyway. The customer support is amazing as well. I highly recommend this product if you don't want to drop all that money on a Garmin. Super happy with this purchase.

I used the Bivy stick for a few months last year in Wyoming. It's light, durable, and the plans are affordable. It gave my family peace of mind knowing that I could call for rescue if cell phone service was unavailable. Also the feature where the device sends out locations with timed intervals is very useful. They have 3 different plans depending on what your needs are. I would definitely recommend it

It works very well! I chose the basic plan cuz I'll only use it for an emergency. I did test it once and sent a message to a friend from the wilderness and he wrote back. Nice small size. Works with your cellphone so you don't need to buy an expensive satellite communicator that has a screen. Save lots of money!

So far so good. Great product design and materials, simple tyo use - additional features (like weather forecast), check ins (messages to family / friends) that make it even better. Looking forward to use it in really remote areas of Brazil in my next overland expedition.

Works great for when cell service isn't available either out of range hiking or for hurricane season when cell towers are down. I do like that the number assigned to the device stays with it versus a new number being assigned when not used for a period of time like other brands do. Also like having the LED to indicate device status and signal strength.

Hi. I’ve had a SPOT GEN3 for the last 4 years and was interested in going to a two-way communication device and trying out a different satellite network for better reliability. After over a dozen uses including a couple overnight bikepacking trips through remote country, I have been exceptionally happy with the Bivy Stick. You may have to wait up to a couple minutes for your communication to send, but it always seems to work if you can provide it with access to some clear sky. I’m very impressed with the value for money, performance, and ease of use to date. I haven’t zeroed in on battery life yet, but it runs for many days on a single charge. Just remember to turn it off when not needing.

I purchased this Bivy Stick in May 2024 because I was going on a cross country road trip to the Pacific Northwest and down the PCH from Ohio. I visited numerous national and state parks. Each time I went to areas that had no cell service I sent a check-in to my emergency contacts and they responded. This thing works great. I was glad I had it with me and was confident that if I did in fact have an emergency the Bivy would communicate when I needed it to.
