Fun as hell with my 9u team

I like the idea of the Accubat, but it just didn't work as well as I had hoped. I coach 2 travel baseball teams (11u and 14u), and was hoping to be able to place fly balls to the outfield. Unfortunately, the accubat couldn't hit it out of the infield. It would work very well for infield pop-ups, but just doesn't do the job for outfield fly balls. I also had 3 other coaches try it in case I was doing it wrong.

Can get some power behind a ball. For me, I noticed you have to hit it just right within the webbing to get the desired placement of a grounder. Heavier than I thought. I'll go back to hitting balls with a bat instead. I wasted my money on this purchase.

Took a few swings to master but works great and we get dozens of more reps with it.

This is nice, but a bit heavy to swing around at the 26 oz. The ball pops off the racket and launches the ball high and far. Great training tool I just wish the handle wasn't round which would have given more control over where the ball is being hit too. Especially when your hands get sweaty or fatigue sets in. I believe having an octagonal grip would eliminate this twisting, or even a lizard skin grip.

Bought the Pro Model to use for practice on a men's 35+ baseball team -- the thought was I could better place grounders during practice. The problem -- can't get enough speed on the grounders. The product would work well for little league coaches and parents that have trouble hitting a baseball. It would probably make sense to get the word Pro out of the product name.

I purchased the Accubat to help my son learn the outfield. It's a perfect tool for doing drills to catch pop-ups and fly balls. It's very accurate compared to a fungo bat, so I can give him repetitions of very similar hits: towering pop-ups, fly balls just back over his head, etc. It's so accurate, in fact, that he sometimes complains that too many of the balls are coming right to him.It doesn't have the power of a real fungo bat, so if you want your player to see balls in the outfield hit from home plate as they would be in a game then you will need a real fungo bat for anything larger than the smallest kids' fields. Also, despite the fact that I play tennis regularly, the Accubat is heavy enough that I notice some fatigue in the arm and shoulder after hitting a few dozen balls. It is a much heavier swing than a tennis racquet and the swinging motion tends to be more arm and less body. Overall this is a very useful training tool but it doesn't completely replace the fungo bat.

If you are tired of throwing flyballs into the air for you child, or using the fungo bat, or even continually hitting with a real bat, then give this a try. This is like a tennis racket, but much heavier. Young kids will not be able to use this to racket as it will be too heavy to swing and get the ball to fly properly (trust me, I've seen numerous 11 and under kids try it). There is a proper way to hit the ball off the racket and it takes practice. Within about ten minutes you should be able to hit fly balls to your child. With more practice you get more accurate on where they go. The other thing you can use this bat for is hitting hard hit grounders. We will take the racket and bounce the ball down towards the ground and it makes the ball go screaming out like a hard hit grounder would fly off a bat. It's good for getting kids to work on grounder work without killing your arm.I will admit my arm is a little sore after I use this for a 1/2 hour + just because it's a heavy racket, but it's so much better than swinging a bat over and over or throwing the balls. To be perfectly honest, it's fun to use this racket. My husband and I both like to be the one using it to give our son extra practice on fly balls and grounders. My husband agrees that this is one of the best baseball tools we've ever bought. My son is much better at catching fly balls now because of it. I would highly recommend.I have a little video review of my husband hitting fly balls to my son using the racket so you can get an idea of how to hit the racket so it sends the balls into the air.[...]

Very good product. You can hit the ball consistently in the Same location unlike using a bat.

Ordered it over the holidays. Just tried it last week at the start of the season, too late to return it. Not easy to use, not enough power to hit the ball to the outfield.

I have used the Accubat Pro Model at 3 practices now for my select 10-U players and my AAA Little league players. All the other coaches are now want one - they all want to keep borrowing mine. Learning how to use it did not take much time (about 10 minutes and I had it mastered). Fly balls are a cinch and grounders are even easier. The secret is to hold the ball like a badminton birdie - don't throw the ball up in the air and try to hit it. Flyball sweet-spot is 30-45 yards (measured out on our football field). If you want to hit it all the way to a major league wall...it isn't going to happen. I have only used it with youth regulation little league hard balls. If you are going to hit a lot of balls at one practice, I recommend wearing a batting or golf glove on the hand you are holding the Accubat with.

Was excited to use when I first received but was disappointed with outcome not easy to use. I went back to hitting ball the oldschool way with a bat and ball. Don't waste your money.
