Good quality filters at a decent price. Last as long as they should. Good stop gap option when you can't get to the plumbing supply store for another case of them, or you need a hold-over till payday. Bulk buying is a better option, but pricey.

We have a new home and this is our 4th type of filter. My husband said that these are definitely the keeper!! We get 2 uses out of them. He replaces the one in the unit with a new filter and then rinses the old filter well and lets it dry and in 3 weeks we switch them out again. Great filters.

This is a very effective particle filter. It may be true of any filter like this; but, while the filter may look "clean", the water will pick up the sulfurous rotten egg smell. Rather than change the filter, I swish the filter in a very dilute bleach solution, then reinstall. Go easy on the bleach, as it can affect the function of a water softener.

Works great on my private well, keeps sediment out of my water, which in turn helps my appliances that use water last longer. Keeps most rust stains from forming by reducing the amount iron in the water.

Its nominal, 5-micron, cellulose pleat traps fine sediment and some rust particles and prevents these from entering the house plumbing system. Not apparent from the photograph of the product are the use of additional ring seals located at the top and bottom openings to reduce unfiltered water leakage past the filter and into the home.<br /><br />There is a tradeoff between particle trapping size and frequency of filter replacement. Since the 5-micron material traps finer particles than the 20-, 30-, 50-micron filters that are also on the market, you should expect to replace this filter more often than others. I replace it at least every four weeks, whereas others I've used lasted up to six weeks but provided less sediment protection.
