I have read for years that you don't need to spend a fortune on HDMI cables. I recently bought a 5534; Sony XBR55X900E (BTW - a GREAT TV!). I had a professional installer wall mount it for me. While waiting for the installation, I hooked up the TV using an cheap HDMI cable. I was very dissatisfied with the picture. The p[picture looked dull and had no depth. The installer came and we did nothing other than change out the HDMI cable to this Vanco cable and WOW - the picture became incredibly clear and had POP. I am now a believer - you get what you pay for.
