I once had a full-sized planer, and for most jobs, it was too large. This one is great for cabinets and shelving that don't close very well, due to overly thick paint, and too-thick shelf lips that prevent ease of closure. And if you are into making balsa-wood airplanes, this planer is ideal.

This little plane requires a bit of work but performs decently well for small trimming jobs. The bottom of mine was not perfectly flat in the center and required a good bit of sanding to flatten out. After sanding the base and sharpening the blade I got nice, thin shavings. Only other bad thing is that the sides are thin enough that it hurts to apply pressure without a glove. Overall a decent value if you don't mind a bit of tuning up.
