great company this latest version is not a sgood receiver for remotes only good to forty feet, last one was good to 450 feet

We have this on our home entrance. Obviously gets used at least 4 plus times a day. It’s mounted on a heavy duty farm gate and opens it just fine with out any issues. We bought additional remote controls and connect them with ease. I can also set it to stay open for when we are hauling equipment etc and need it open longer. It opens at the same speed of all other automatic gates I’ve experienced. I would recommend this product to a friend.

Fairly simple instructions to follow for installation. If you have a problem with the opener, try a new battery sometimes it seems like when you get one. It’s been around a while. I have installed five gate openers two of them on my own properties.

So this is the second mighty mule I’ve owned. Honestly, these are not high-end products. They do not replace the 10 or $15,000 units that I sometimes install for clients. However, I have a 16 foot wide two leaf gate on an acre property in the mountains. My first one held up for about eight years. Now I’m installing this one. I could’ve repaired the old one parts are still available, but it was gonna take longer to get the parts then to get a new set up. So honestly, if I’m not spending $10-$15,000 it’s pretty hard to complain about the quality you’re getting in this set up. And my gate is not super light. Although I do have some excellent ball bearing hinges that I keep well lubricated.

These are vey good as I have a double gate and works good has Ma remote but it stopped workin after a few days but had order extra smaller remotes and they work great.

This is my 3rd 'mule' in 25 years and this one was a Pain to install...Period. It's also smaller and made more of plastic. Also, the remote doesn't work very well at all. You have to be almost on top of the gate for it to work. My old one could be operated from the street (about 100 feet away), but this new one has to be within 3 to 4 feet! What good is a remote??? UPDATE: January 8: A tech friend came by and looked at the controller and said: "They soldered the antenna wire to the WRONG PLACE on the circuit board"! He moved and re-soldered the antenna wire, and now I can use the remote. Mighty Mule quality seems to have fallen terribly. Total Rip Off of $300!!

My folks have had a Mighty Mule gate opener since the early 2000s and have gone through numerous gate openers. The openers last several years and then die and, of course, you can't just replace the component (arm or controller), you have to place the whole thing. Then there's all of the other items... remotes, keypads, solar charger etc. I feel like I'm always fixing something with this thing or replacing it, but my mom likes the added security so I keep fixing it. This last time I got stuck because the gate wouldn't open fully and I was able to get someone on customer support who, while being rather condescending, did solve my issue.

Purchased this so I can keep all the neighbors animals out of my yard. Animal Control and I know each other too well. This has helped solve some of the issues. Wish it wasn't so expensive and I had to purchase so many "other" items to complete it.

I own another gate from gto but if you buy this one you may need another opener with dip switches to pair it to operate keypad wireless opener I don’t know why they wouldn’t provide it when you purchase the opener they only cost $10 but I think it said they would send you it not convenient but I had other dip switch oper from other to program it.The cost is a bit for what you get it works the arm could be another inch more of throw to open further so mock up your set up to be sure it opens n closes totally I rate it 4 just for that reason n price

DO NOT BUY!! Installed the Mighty Mule 272 on a lightweight dual swing aluminum gate, 7 feet wide each. Openers worked great after install. Less than two years in, went to open the gate and heard a loud constant beep. Gates wouldn't move. Called technical support and troubleshot everything. They came to conclusion that the motor in both arms had seized and there was no fix. Didn't have an explanation on why it happened. Told me warranty was only good for a year and there is nothing else they could do except recommend I buy a whole new system!! These things are way too much money to have to be replaced completely after two years. There is no binding on the gate and no reason for the motor to fail. The gates blow freely in the wind when not hooked to the arms. They wouldn't offer me a discount or anything to help offset the ridiculous cost. I will never buy a might mule product again.
