I used these connectors for my chartplotters and my own custom cable, and they work great. They're watertight, so perfect for marine use. Just make sure to lube the cable to make installation easier. The strain relief is a bit longer than on molded products, but it still works fine. Overall, a solid choice for securing your network connections!

It is not big enough for water rated cat5e, which is what I wanted to use since the cable is slightly exposed to the elements. Ended up just using regular cat5 cable and it works fine. Make sure you follow the wiring diagram for the patch cable.

Needed to cut the factory end of the Garmin network cable for install on the hardtop of my boat and snake the line to the ebox. I got it right on my 1st try, but I will say, it is a little tricky. Use the existing factory end that you are cutting as a template. This is important, as the colors are different on each end, so use the one you cut and are replacing. I would suggest taking a pic with your phone and zooming in to triple check the colors are in the right order, otherwise it won't work correctly. Don't forget, you will also need the crimping tool as well.

Only reason I did not give a 5 star review, the end fittings are not passthru. However they are top quality
