When we watch a video at my girlfriends apartment, she wants to keep the sound low. With this I control the volume and can have it as loud as I want. I imagine as I grow older and deafer, this will be my full time hearing aid. I don't feel the need to wear some that are tiny that I think no one can see so every one thinks I'm still young.

My mom uses it. We can't get her hearing aids so she use this.People are amazed at how well it works.

This device is really good. I got two for my elderly parents after plenty of research. During the research I learned that the sound quality of conventional hearing aids like ear buds can be very difficult to get used to and they are hard to adjust. In the conventional hearing aids with ear buds the microphone and speaker are so close they can produce a feedback loop that results in a high pitch whining sound. In contrast, this device I got for my parents does not have any of those drawbacks. The microphone is away from the ear so there is never any whistling sound. I tried them myself and the quality of sound is excellent, crisp, clear with no distortions. They amplify the voice of other people, of music or the TV. Now I don't have to raise my voice or repeat what I say because my parents can hear me clearly; they don't have to turn the volume high on the TV either. It's all back to normal like when we visited when they were younger. The device is simple and easy to use, which is quite important for the elderly; it is very intuitive: plug the headset, turn the device on, make sure the setting is to pick up sound from the microphone and adjust the volume if necessary. I highly recommend them. They are new so I don't know anything about durability yet.

I liked the fact that the product worked. It has a nice range of loudness to work with and for most people it is easy to use. Unfortunately I bought it for my 90 year old father and he couldn't remember which buttons to use so it wasn't working for him, thus I returned it. If I ever need such a device I will relook into this product.

Turning the treble (high frequency amplification) down helps me.Avoid touching the case or mic as this creates a loud bothersome noise. The amp does amplify ambient noise, but seems to be optimized for frequencies most produced by speech.Helps hearing TV or radio as well.
