With the right Amp these will shine...Bought these due to reviews saying they sounded good musically. I needed a pair of speakers to practice material, repeated recordings, of segments of songs , onto CD's for learning drum solo's , difficult sections etc. Had to have something fairly loud but not too big, so I wouldn't drown them out with drums. Reading info on DJ amps, crazy cheap, with huge , per ch. claims, I noticed 34;Humm34; issues, distortion rates and signal to noise rates which were really lousy. (audible) I decided to try home stereo amps first. I hooked them up to a Yamaha receiver rated 115W per side 8ohm and (4ohm rated)....not pretty,.. amp struggled, MTX's sounded pathetic. I had an old Class A/B, 2 Chan. Rotel Pre and Amp rated at 135 a side in 8ohm., to try as well. Hooked up MTX's and they came alive, and they sounded pretty darn good, clean, loud, perfect , especially at price point, a lot of bang for your buck. DJ's will need a sub, with them, but perfect for my needs, very clean sound at high volumes, musically pleasing. Can't tell on longevity, but build is solid, clean. Post and 1/434; plugs hook-up choice, is a nice as well. Reviews saying they didn't sound great, try changing your amp.. .
