Works great, 12v trigger on /-. Common to ground on ac circuit, n.c to ground on appliance. Power goes straight thru to device bypassing this piece. Whenever energized, the relayed device turns on. Reversed, if normally open, when energized the device turns off, and turns on when relay is not energized. I wouldn't quite call it a dry contact, you need a light duty power supply to energize the circuit. If planning for triggering device to be far away, you may want to have a slightly overspeced power supply. I get mine from China (2a 12v $5). I cannot verify if it works below 12v, havent tested. Perfect for beginners home automation or more advanced projects. If you are looking at this piece, you likely understand the basics and how this piece functions but thought I'd clarify just incase it helps anyone.

A necessary part of my warp drive engine. When traveling faster than the speed of light good quality relay circuits are important. Made in Communist China.
