This is a very well made vise. It is not what is called a high precision vise but I have never seen a vise that fit together as precisely as this.

I never knew how nice it is to have a vice that's not bolted down to a workbench. It's nice to have small projects in a vice that you can move around quickly. Really handy if you're filing something. I've also used it for holding long sections of pipe while soldering, something that a bolted down bench vice couldn't do. I don't own a drill press, so I can't say how well it works on one. The vice opens and closes smoothly and the jaws seems reasonably straight. You can quickly clamp it down to a workbench if you need to as well. I'm not sure how I lived without this thing for so long.

Perfect fit for my small bench drill press. Great buy for the quality and price.

Smooth operation with no misalignment or ride up of the jaws. Some have complained that the following rod runs through the center of the vise where the drill bit could damage it during drilling. So? I adjust my table for every drilling or tapping job. I adjust the bottom stop so that the bit stops short of striking the following rod. Problem solved. Doesn't even require an extra step. The side slots on the vise didn't mate up exactly with my Ryobi table. I simply placed both bolts on one side of the vise. If, down the road, I have problems with centering on a job, I will just drill out larger diameter holes in the slots of the vise. It is only about 1/834; off. Or using a smaller diameter bolt might do it.

Good quality, smooth action. A low profile vise with a little extra height in the jaws which is a real plus and makes the vise more functional and a very good bargain for under $50

Great little vice. Solid construction and nicely finished surfaces for the price. Appears to be a quality product from the first few uses.
