If your looking for subwoofers in the $200 price range for home theater, look no further. After hooking it up and playing some bass action scenes, I can call it one of the best deals in audio. I really expected much, much less. I plan on buying a second one!

I was anxiously waiting by the door, when It arrived I was eager to set it up however, I was left with a sour taste after noticing damage to the sub. As seen in the pictures, the corner was chipped off

Extremely clean my draw back would I had to increase av output on DSP to allow it to contribute and with its gain maxed. I suspect amp resistors but not sure. For the price range it is of quality

So far so good. Replaces a $500 Hsu Research sub that crapped out after 8 years of use. If this lasts half that time, I'll be happy. Great sound for the price.

Awesome sub addition to my home theater! I've got a ten inch powered sub behind my TV and I stuck this one behind my chair. Big size (it is a fifteen inch powered sub), but gigantic bass. It will shake your home!

An overall fantastic subwoofer for the price. I will now list all of the pros and cons, but before that, there is on thing you need to know. I have heard that this speaker is much better after having time to 34;break in,34; and I have just been using it for a few hours. Pros: Extremely loud. This will definitely give you earth shattering bone chattering bass at a great cost. The deep bass sounds great. The speaker itself seems to be very high quality, and so does the surround. The speaker looks like it's made for high output and low bass. The box is also very sturdy. No port noise. Cons (Note: My room is not good acoustically, and I have not spent a huge amount of time positioning the subwoofer. ) The power is highly unpredictable. The first kick in a series can be pounding and loud, but then the others, will be the correct volume. The frequency response isn't at all close to flat. There are loud frequencies and quiet frequencies all over. I know the placement has a lot to do with this though, but the mid bass is definitely way too loud compared to everything else. I have the crossover set to 100 hz, so it sounds pretty good coupled with my other speakers which start to drop off around that frequency. The box is small and the port is as well. I don't know what it's tuned to, but I think it should be at least a half an octave lower. Very boomy, but the bass is still accurate, and I am able to distinguish all the different notes. lastly, the frequency response, as others have said, is not a lie, but the sound very steeply rolls off at around 32 hz. Final thoughts: This is the best way to spend two hundred dollars guaranteed. You can't get a better subwoofer in this price range, and you'd be hard pressed to even make one in this price range (unless you know how to wire your own amp). Audiophile quality? No, not really. There are booms, the power is unpredictable and the bass isn't perfect, but unless you want to both sacrifice output and frequency response to get a smaller one that's less boomy and has higher quality audio, this subwoofer is your best bet. I am very impressed with this subwoofer, and I have gotten much more than I expected from it.

Good for the ultra lows. Not good for the mid lows. I have a 1234; 465 watt Polk that fills in the middle. I also have 4 6.534; woofers in my JBL towers to broaden the sound stage. If you only have this woofer you will work it really hard. You have to turn the gain way up and then it will sound nice for about 1/3-2/3 of the time. I would recommend using another smaller subwoofer with and blending the two together. It is perfect for that scenario. For $180.00 a sure fire hit. Just don't expect too much. It is wonderful when used as part of a BASS ARMY but so good as an Army of One.

This sub isn't an entry level sub like it's price might suggest. For music and for movies. I purchased two of them to replace a pair of 1234; cerwin vegas. Very glad i did. Sounds good right out of the box. Sounds better when adjustments are tweaked. And after approx 20 hours of use, it (they) really pack a powerful punch! The house has around 15 powered subs. Sony, JBL, Polk, Cerwin vega, Infinity. The Daytons are my hands down favorite.

Subtle, not boomy. You'll only notice what you've been missing when you turn it off. Easy set up. Fills the room. Great price, too.

Could not get sub to stay on at lower volumes and when it was on got little bass response. Parts express told me to hook Ubuntu sub out to red input on back. Maybe I should be using a y cable? Or splitter instead? Bought a paw 10 Polk sub and it is much clearer ,louder and stays on no matter what. Waited too long to return it so wasted couple hundred bucks. Does not even compare to Polk in terms of quality.
