I checked the thread on my band saw before purchase and it is 3/8 16 just like description on this product. When it arrived it would not work because treads are not 3/8 16 So I used the handle on exsisting rod.

Bought this to replace my knob tensioner on my bandsaw. The old (original) one would tire out my hand and wrist. Installed the Big Horn in minutes. Started to tension my blade and bam, an explosion, and metal chunks everywhere. The Big Horn works as advertised. It was very easy to over tension the saw. Had to replace the shaft hinge assembly. Totally my fault. Just be aware of the tension level.

The illustration shows a plastic crank on a steel screw. I bought one of these 2 years ago and the plastic handle broke last month. Still, I bought another and it arrived with a metal crank... much better. If your order one and you get the plastic crank, just be aware that it must be handled with some care. Or maybe this year (September 2024) you will luck out and get the metal crank, which should last forever. Breaking or not, the convenience of a crank was worth the price.
