Bought this replacement filter for our new rental, with an indoor whole house system. Well tested fine but water smelled pretty bad. Once I got the filter in and the lines flushed their was a noticeable difference. The smell was very faint and acceptable. Now 2 weeks later the smell is coming back in force and getting worse every day. I honestly think unless I can fine a better filter I'm going to have to replace this every 3-4 weeks which is ridiculous. I'm not impressed at all, I was hoping for 3 months a the minimum. At least the price is decent, so it get an extra star for that.

This filter has helped with our water condition very much. It works well to reduce the rotten egg smell from the naturally occurring hydrogen sulfide in my well water. It usually lasts between 4-6 weeks before I start smelling it again so I replace it about every month. I had a complete water test done and it came back perfect except for this smell. I have purchased similar filters locally but this Pentek seems better made and it is about $10-15 cheaper than the big box stores.

This product used to be rated 20microns. Now, there is no rating on the label. I don't believe it filters out odors as well as the previous Pentek.
