I bought this brace because due to injury my knee gives out and i have alot of pain and swelling. This brace is very light weight but has given me more support than braces that weigh twice as much. Very comfortable, can wear it all day with no problems. My knee still gives out some but this brace supports it enough that i can catch it. For my injury it has helped alot. I highly suggest it.

I love to play basketball and have torn my ACl twice, so I have tried many different types of knee braces. This knee brace is one of the best if not the best knee brace I have ever used to play basketball with. It gives me a good support, good range of motion, and stays in place. I highly recommend this brace, just make sure you get the proper size.

I like this brace for the comfort aspect, and it prevents my knee from rattling when skiing the chutes. I mainly use this skiing in the Tahoe ski areas.

I have an auto immune disease and periodically my knee swells and weakens. This brace is comfortable enough to wear all day and gives me the support I need to stay on my feet without greater risk of injury. I would recommend this brace to anyone who needs periodic support for weakened knees due to injury or illness. Jeff from Connecticut.

I have had knee problems for a while and these were the first knee braces that provided enough support for my knees without hindering motion too excessively. That being said, bending your knee past 90 deg. is not easy or comfortable but other than that they do a great job.

I tore my lateral and medial meniscus. Not sure how much, but I'm in pain all the time. I got this knee brace because I believed the hinges would help my knee not go left/right (a.k.a, the wrong way) when walking. It doesn't happen very often, but it's extremely painful and something I would rather not occur.Anyway, I measured my knee and it just happened to be in the "small" size range. I decided to get a medium because I had read reviews in which people had said to get one size up. I'm glad I got the medium, but the bottom part is tight on my leg (below the kneecap) as is. I don't think the small would have fit at all. I'm 6ft 3, and I weigh about 180 pounds. So, I'm rather tall and skinny.I've only had this product about a day, but when I put it on it feels absolutely amazing. My only problem with it is since it helps keep my knee somewhat straight when walking, I find it feels a little odd. I don't walk like a normal person...more like a penguin (or so I'm told). But, I've been pain free all day and I'm going to keep using it and see how it goes.I'm not going to give it 5-stars yet until I've had more time with it, however. (But, right now, I love it!)EDIT 12/7/2011: I've been using this brace for about a week, and I can tell you it's STILL amazing. I've found myself thinking about not wearing it because there's no way it hurts so much without it. Seriously. But, I still wear it because after a long day, my knee will start aching a little. Not enough to make me worried, but enough to remind me.And, of course, it doesn't help with the stiffness I get when I sit for too long. But, overall I would recommend this to anyone with meniscus problems. I can't recommend this product for ACL, PCL, or MCL problems, as mine are fine...as far as I can tell.

This brace does not open up - it must be slipped over the foot and up to the knee. I'm really disappointed to find that the largest HG-80 knee brace Mueller makes, the size XL, is not even wide enough to slip over my 17 1/2 inch (44.5 cm) calves. I'm a 6' 4" tall athlete who wears size XL shirts, sweaters, and coats - and my leg muscles are about average for my size. Mueller really ought to think about offering a 2XL and maybe even a 3XL. Most people with knee problems are either athletes or overweight and these limited sizes will eliminate LOTS of those people. Apparently both would require a much larger brace than the size XL.

This is a few steps up from one of those knee braces you can buy at a pharmacy or department store.I like it, the design and the way it feels and looks on me. Great product.

I have been suffering from knee pain for 6 years because I tore my left MCL twice. After 2 surgeries the doctors ended up taking 80% of my left MCL out. Since those surgeries I have been trying brace after brace after brace - all failed. One day while searching for a new brace I came across the Mueller Hg80 Hinged Knee Brace, Large, Black. I thought what would it hurt to try the brace. As soon as the brace arrived I tried it on expecting just another brace. As I began walking around, the support from the bracefelt amazing. With support that I felt around my thigh, knee and calf and with the hinges for extra support I was truley amazed. I have noticed I can stand and walk longer than I have in a very long time. I am back playing sports which has made me very happy! I would strongly recommend this product to anyone who suffers from knee pain or needs extra support for a knee problem.

Attractive design, good quality, however the density / support of the material (?), provided less support in my case than McDavid design. The McDavid Neoprene Patella Knee Support With Spring Steel Stays worked for me. Looking at the knee brace product lines there are so many to chose from, you have to accept the reality of purchasing several before finding a match.

For the last 10 years I have been wearing the Ossur Unloader ONE Knee brace. It was an excellent product and really worked well to support my knee after loosing my MCL (the surgeons have been in there 3 times, I have nothing left). The problem was the cost. At upwards of $1900 I was putting out hundreds every 3-4 years to replace my knee brace as they wore out (this was after my deductible and co-pay).I tried the Mueller Hg80 and got the very same results for a total of $41.44 (which includes shipping and handling). For me it was actually a better purchase, despite the cost difference, as the Mueller Hg80 allows me to return to aerobic exercises involving a balance ball and twisting turns (nothing to demanding)on a planted knee, something the more expensive unit did not allow. For less than $50, you may want to start here and see if your needs are not met!

I have severe arthritis in both my knees. My physical therapist does not issue braces for my issue. After reading the reviews I figured why not? $80 (for 2) is not a lot to lose.I've had them for about 2 months now. WOW!!! They make a huge difference. They are fairly slim so I can wear them under my uniform pants. They don't eliminate the pain, but they sure reduce the amount of pain, depending on my activity for the day. They also help delay the pain till much later in the day. ie - The pain still comes, just later and not as bad.The only bad point - they squeak every now and again. Outside it really isn't an issue, but people poke their heads out of the cubicles when I walk by.Edit: I've had these braces for the better part of a year now. I still love them. They have held up VERY well, no rips or tears or loss of velcro "stickyness". The "liquid metal" logo stuff on the bottom started to peel off about 45 days ago so I just helped it along.I just ordered my second set. Now I have one for working out and the other for normal daily wear.

This knee brace works just great for me. It doesn't get sweaty like other braces I have had and it makes my knee joint feel supported. It allows my knee joint to function properly and is pretty lightweight. There is no restriction when wearing it. It does appear a little bulky on the sides at the hinges when you are sitting but anything that is hinged is probably going to look that way. Great knee brace and well worth the $40-$50.

It didn't fit and wasn't adjustable enough to make it fit. To get one to fit on my thigh it's too loose on the knee and calf, but to fit the knee and calf doesn't fit the thigh. I really can't tell you if it works or not because it doesn't fit me properly. I'm getting a better result with that Tensor tube sock thing.

I tore my meniscus and I needed to provide some support while treatment options were considered. After some researching, I invested in this knee brace. It provides the stability in my knee that is currently missing, and it supports my legs when the knee gives. I have used it for about one week, and it has made me almost forget that my knee hurts. I envision, if I need surgery, it will help protect the knee from further injury during rigorous activity.

I recently purchased this item and all I can say is don't waste your money. My main issue with this brace is that the metal hinges rub against your calf which causes pain and leaves indentation marks. The brace stays in place but causes to much discomfort. Very poorly designed product. As well, I am stuck with this item because the seller only has a 10 exchange policy.

The product description says to measure the circumference of your knee. Mine is 19 inches and the product description says a XL fits 18 to 20 inches. Maybe it's because i'm about 100lbs overweight. I'll keep it in case I loose a bunch of weight, but I'm ordering a XXL instead.

I purchased this brace after twisting my knee skiing a few weeks ago. I had some instability in my knee and this brace allowed me to keep skiing without any issues. I highly recommed this brace due to its comfort. The material is very breathable and mobile.

I'm a petite asian girl and when I noticed they have a small knee brace that not only looks comfortable, but sturdy also, I jumped right on it.Unfortunately right when I put them on and Velcro the straps I bent my knees and the seams came undone.I was very disappointed in the quality of craftsmanship. The concept and design was great. The hinge allowed support and mobility.Overall, if the seams didn't come undone, I would have loved to see what this brace can do.

I am wearing this brace for wrestling practice to replace my heavy duty one from having my ACL replaced. I really like it. I am not sure if the hinges would really hold up well against a blow or if they are worth having. The only issue I have had with it is that I might have been better off with a size smaller.
